One of the last good deals on State Street, 12/3/2008

This restaurant has been around forever (more than 20 years) and it is in an upswing. It feels like a new place and it has gone to the top of my list for casual dining on State. When you add the fact that it has an outdoor patio to enjoy our weather to the great prices, I cannot believe you can walk in and get a seat almost anytime.

I love this place!!! For the price that you pay you are getting a good meal at a great price. Its not fancy, but the food tastes great and the staff is friendly!! A gret place for locals or an out of towner that doesnt want the fancy dining. I will go back mamy more times!!!!

State and A has been at the same location for decades. In the restaurant business you don't stay long if you don't provide a quality product. Santa Barbara has so many great restaurants to choose from too. The food can be average at times, but always fresh and tasty.The salad bar is outstanding. Every salad bar item is fresh and there is a lot of variety. Add the salad bar to a main dish selection for just $2.50. It's worth every penny. And eat outside on the patio and enjoy the wonderful ambiance of State Street and Santa Barbara.State and A is a "no miss" on any visit to SB. There are lots of "don't miss" places to eat, put State and A on that list too.

It's a fun local corner pub. I love the spinach/goat cheese salad, but be sure to add grilled onions to it. There is local live music, a big TV screen so the place fills up during sports games, and the Turkey burger isn't bad either. I like it that they have Fat Tire Ale..New Belgium Brewing is a very socially responsible company. State & A is consistent and fun. As a local, it feels like a neighborhood pub that I feel fond of.

I LOVE THE SALAD BAR AT STATE & A. The margarita's are good too. The live music on thursdays is a must, always a good time. The best part is our usual waitress J.J. She's super cute and a real sweetheart. LONG LIVE RANCH DRESSING!!
